Privacy Policy — SceneVault

This policy describes what data SceneVault ("the app") collects, stores, and shares. It is written to match the App Store Connect App Privacy nutrition label exactly. If this document and the nutrition label ever disagree, the nutrition label is wrong — let us know at support@medbillresolve.com.

What the app collects

Anonymous, opt-out product analytics only. SceneVault collects three small categories of data via PostHog: anonymous product-interaction events (e.g. "paywall viewed", "scene created"), anonymous crash and performance diagnostics, and purchase history (the StoreKit transaction ID and product ID). None of these are linked to your identity, and none are used for cross-app or website tracking. You can turn off analytics at any time in Settings.

What the app stores locally

Everything you capture in SceneVault — scene records, photos, video, voice memos, notes, location coordinates, measurements, and AR scan data — is stored on your device only, in a local SwiftData database and the app sandbox. None of this content is transmitted to any server.

What the app transmits

Only the anonymous analytics events listed above (to PostHog at us.i.posthog.com) and StoreKit transactions (to Apple, required for subscription billing). The app does not transmit photos, video, audio, notes, location, scans, or any user-entered text to any server.

Third-party services

SceneVault uses one third-party service: PostHog (posthog.com/privacy) for anonymous product analytics and crash reporting. Data is hosted in the United States. Apple's StoreKit handles subscription billing on Apple's own infrastructure. The app does not use Firebase, Mixpanel, Amplitude, Sentry, Crashlytics, Google Analytics, advertising networks, or any other third-party services.

Permissions we request

• Camera — to capture photos, video, and AR scans of the scene you are documenting. Captured media stays on device.
• Microphone — to record voice memos and dictated notes. Recordings stay on device.
• Photo Library (read) — to import photos from your library to attach to a scene record.
• Photo Library (add) — to save exports and annotated images back to your library when you choose to share them.
• Location (when in use) — to tag new scenes with your current location. Location is stored on device only.
• Motion — to stabilize AR scans and improve measurement accuracy.
• Face ID — to lock the app so others cannot view your scene records on this device. Face ID lock is available to all users (free and Pro).

Each prompt appears in context the first time you use the feature that needs it. If you deny a permission, that specific feature is disabled; the rest of the app continues to work.

Your controls

• Revoke any permission in iOS Settings → SceneVault at any time.
• Turn off anonymous analytics in Settings → Privacy → Send anonymous usage analytics.
• Tap Settings → Erase All Data to delete every saved scene, photo, audio recording, note, and measurement from this device.
• Uninstall the app to remove all locally-stored data.
• Contact us at support@medbillresolve.com to request any data we hold or to ask a question about this policy.

Children

SceneVault is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has used the app and entered personal data, contact us and we'll delete it.

What SceneVault is not

SceneVault is a documentation tool for field workers. It is not a forensic certification product, not a court-admissibility product, not a tamper-proof or chain-of-custody product, and not a law-enforcement extraction tool. SHA-256 hashing on exports confirms that bundle contents have not changed since export — that is its only purpose.

Changes

We'll update this page when the data we collect changes. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent change. Material changes (new data types, new third-party services) will also prompt an in-app notice on next launch.
